I'm planing a band show in March at this lovely venue filled with cute and kind hipsters of all ages. I personally don't think I'm cool enough to be called a hipster, but I know a good one when I see one.

Last year, Nick Poholchuck dazzled on-lookers with his perfect (though maybe not in perfect taste...that's my bad) Gandhi costume. Especially remarkable was the ripping guitar solo he played. Celebrating the quadricentenial of Henry Hudson’s sail up our river! Come on down to the river’s edge and create your own Floating Sculptures. We’ve shanghai’ed a talented and motley crew of artists, builders, craftsmen, frogmen, kayakers and captains who are volunteering to collaborate with you, your family and all your favorite river rats. You will learn about how to make things float – displacement, bouancy, center of gravity - or you can just use the sink or float method. We’ll provide all manner of shipwrecked materials –and you can bring yours too- and launch our works of art on a cleverly rigged flotilla line using the spectacular Hudson as our canvas. Building commences at high noon, and launches after 3 pm. Bring your own lunch and a sandwich for the frogman! We’re casting a wide net, so GET ABOARD EARLY. FREE FOR ALL.

If you haven't experienced the unique format of the Upstairs Sessions, here is a brief description: Kelly Flint created and (usually) hosts the UPSTAIRS SESSIONS at the Living Room in NYC on the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 7:30-9:30. One part live performance, one part talk show: The UPSTAIRS SESSIONS features musical performances by two artists interspersed with intimate and open conversation between the artists and host. Discussion topics include but are not limited to the artist's song writing processes, musical experiences and the inspiration behind their songs. The evening includes an open forum between the artists and the audience.

ZUZU's (formerly the Chthonic Clash) is a lovely new spot, and best of all VERY supportive of regional artists. I'm so pleased to be playing there. It's going to be one my first gigs with my NEW BAND called...COLD SPRING! Featuring Liz Nolf, Terese Giammarco and Nick Polholchuk. You'll hear perverted covers of 'Afternoon Delight', 'Jive Talking' and 'I Will Survive' that = lots of harmony and hilarity. Of course we'll be doing plenty of my tunes as well.
Holy Cow! I'm really pleased and proud to be playing at this haven for music in NYC. The Series is called 'On Your Radar' and is hosted by WFUV's John Platt. I'm subbing for Sloan Wainright, so I have some big shoes to fill..a-hem...(don't know what size her feet are.
